Whats Involved in our Birthday Parties

Arrival: Ideally you want to aim to arrive approximately 15 minutes before your party is due to start. This allows for any travel issues and provides us with enough time to register all the players for their first game such that the party starts on time.

Timing: Your party will last just over 1 hour from start of the first game to finish of the last; 2x 20 minute game sessions with a 20 minute break between the two games. 

Game Time: The first game session lasts 20 minutes (a small period of which is used to cover the kit-up talk in which we explain how to use the equipment and run through the safety rules). After the first game the guests will get their half-time drinks and will receive their individual scorecards. These scorecards detail who they tagged and what points they scored, and who tagged them and the score to be deducted for getting tagged, the remaining score after deductions is the final score, the highest scoring player being the most successful.

During the Game: The game is essentially an electronic version of tag, or cow boys and Indians for the more senior player. Players attempt to tag other players for points by firing a laser gun at flashing targets on their opponents pack. Points are awarded for successfully tagging an opponent whilst points are taken away for being tagged. The games are mostly played as simple solo or team games. Solo games are where everybody plays for themselves (this type of game works well for small groups) and team games are usually played with two opposing teams.

Between the Games: In between the games is an ideal time to rest and recuperate with a cold drink. Scorecards will be given out shortly after the game has finished and this time between games can be used to compare your score with your friends and opponents. Towards the end of this 20 minute period we will call the players over to the reception counter again to re-issue them with keytags for their next game.

After the Last Game: After the last game we will provide the players with their party goody bags and if an extravaganza party was booked then the players will receive their food at this point in their private party room. Scorecards will be given out again as usual and the birthday guest will be presented with their party certificate and present. Most groups usually allow between 10 and 30 minutes before the pickup of any players to allow them to finish their drinks. If on an extravaganza party, you and your guests may remain in the party room for up to 40 minutes and as such more time might want to be left before pickup.
